Biography
Elizabeth Eero Irving is an artist living and working in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a third generation Alaskan, her family first arriving in the North via an intrepid Great Grandfather seeking his fortune in the Yukon Gold Rush in 1898.

She received her B.F.A in Documentary Photography in 1996 as a Kreielsheimer Scholar from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA.  Proficient in many different arts and crafts forms, her artwork spans painting, photography, quilting, collage, beadwork and bookmaking.

In 2006 she received a Rasmuson Project Award to create work for several group and solo exhibitions.  Most recently, she is the recipient of a Connie Boochever Artist Fellowship funded by the Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation and administered by the Alaska State Council on the Arts (2007).

In addition to producing her own artwork, Elizabeth organizes and curates group, thematic art exhibits including “GunArt: .38 Artists” (Feb. 2004), “9 North: Multimedia Alaskan Perspectives” (May 2007) and “The Bones Show” (Oct. 2007).  Her next major curating endeavor will be “Countenance: Modern Masks of the North” taking place at Well Street Art Company in Fairbanks, January of 2009.

In her spare time, she is an avid skier and cyclist and tends to her growing herd of tropical orchids.
